I love machine embroidery. It is so much faster than hand embroidery and can be done on so many more different types of material. It also can contain so much more detail and withstands wear and tear better than hand embroidery. My favorite type of machine embroidery is applique as I can complete the same design with different fabrics to make each look unique and different. One special project I did was to cut hearts from one of my husband's blue t-shirts and I embroidered his name and birthday and death day on one side and the nickname he gave our first daughter on the other side, stuffed it lightly and sewed the two sides together. He had passed away one month before our daughter's wedding and she pinned the heart to her wedding bouquet so she could carry something of his down the aisle with her.
