Why I like machine embroidery!

I have a body that is 67 years old and a mind that is still in it's 20's!! Being able to make beautiful creations for family and friends makes me extremely happy! I just got the greatest thank you e-mail from my youngest grandsons teacher. I had made 2 different types of Christmas pencil toppers and purchased Christmas pencils for the class. This grandson is special. We lost his mother, our youngest daughter, 2 years and 9 months ago. This grandson lives with his father and other grandmother about 2 hours away. We spend as much time with him as possible. We had him over Thanksgiving and he helped me make the pencil toppers. The joy that I received watching this 7 year old grandson help me create gifts on my embroidery machine was priceless! His teacher and the class were so excited to get the pencils and toppers. I am also a quilter and love incorporating machine embroidery squares in my quilts. Whenever grief hits me and brings me to my knees, I say a prayer and head for my embroidery machine. I can feel my precious daughter looking over my shoulder and smiling.

Embroidering helps me deal with the grief.
