Why do you love machine embroidery?

I lost my dad suddenly, after a short illness, two years ago in January, and had a tough time getting through as an only child who was very close to him.
As a gift, to help me get back into the peace I found in crafting and to help with the grief, my mum bought me my very first embroidery machine.
I had always done knitting, crochet at cross-stitch, but the embroidery machine was a wonder - a way to combine all my passions and create all kinds of wonderful things.
I haven't looked back and, last year, having outgrown my 5x7 hoop already, mum bought me a brand new machine - a Janome MC 550e and now my passion has grown again after also buying the Hatch digitizing program to play with.
Every time I sit down at my machine or start to design something new, I think of my dad, and how happy he would be that I have found peace and happiness again.
That's why I love machine embroidery.
