Why I Love Machine Embroidery

First of all, machine embroidery is so fast compared to hand embroidery. I used to do hand embroidery long ago, and now I wonder how I ever had time to do it. Now I just load a design, hoop fabric and off we go! My favorite type of embroidery is free standing lace. I love to create FSL ornaments and mail them in Christmas cards or hand them out at church. Most people don't believe they are made from just thread! I've handed out Easter and Christmas themed bookmarks. I love to make FSL angels for the Christmas tree. The cats usually don't leave the Christmas tree alone, so unbreakable ornaments are a must at my house. If they ruin an ornament, I can just make another one. I even have one cat that systematically removes the ornaments one by one! Embroidery also gives you endless options for colors in thread. THe same design looks different with a change in thread.
