Why I like machine embroidery?
I start doing machine embroidery while I was a school nurse. There where a couple of people there that made things for the kids. Well I had to do that also, it looked like so much fun. I started embroidering items for the high school cheerleaders, which my daughter was a member. Then I started helping the drama class. Before I knew it I was hooked. Then my children started having babies. I have 7 grandchildren now, ages from 10 months to 17 years. A wide range of age allows me to have a wide range of embroidery patterns to pick from.
Unfortunately on 2/18/2018 my house caught on fire. I lost every thing I had collected over the last 40 years. I am starting over again. I was giving a brand new embroidery machine by one of the doctors and his wife because they heard how upset i was loosing my sewing room. They where so generous. This allowed me to be able to sew again. I embroidery bibs and burb rags for the new grandbaby. I was able to make her baptismal gown. It was gorgeous if i say so myself. I made it out of my daughter's wedding dress. Added embroidery around the hem. It was a special moment knowing my granddaughter was wearing the same dress her mom was married in.
With covid around now, my embroidery has been my mental health preserver. I have been creating new things to decorate the new house.
It makes me smile again
