Why I love machine embroidery

I love finding the perfect saying or design for a project and then altering colors, if necessary, to go with my fabric choices. With 9 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, I'm always looking for designs to match the personalities of the recipients. I am very lucky because my dear husband is the one who runs the embroidery machines which leaves me the time to make quilts or items to put the embroidery designs on. He also embroideries labels for the quilts that I make. I like the filled designs best, but haven't really tried ITH or applique that much yet. My husband embroidered some bowls with a free-standing lace design and they were beautiful. I look forward to learning more about embroidery from this forum.
